NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the internal promotions of two leaders to key chief roles. Effective December 2024, Shelly Hazle has been promoted to Chief Livability & Policy Officer, and as of February 2025, Daryl Curry has been elevated to Chief Talent Development Officer. These appointments underscore the Chamber’s commitment to driving regional livability, policy innovation, education, and talent development as part of its Partnership 2030 initiative.

Since joining the Chamber in early 2023, Shelly Hazle has leveraged her experience from the Greater Nashville Regional Council to drive transformative quality-of-life initiatives. At GNRC, she played a pivotal role in regional policy and livability programs like Cumberland Region Tomorrow. Now, as Chief Livability & Policy Officer, Shelly is channeling that expertise into leading forward-thinking policy initiatives at the Chamber—focusing on issues such as transportation, housing, and childcare—to enhance community well-being and strengthen strategic partnerships across Middle Tennessee.

Daryl Curry has been a leader within the Chamber’s Talent team since 2022, uniting stakeholders through initiatives like the Education Report Committee, Academies of Nashville Partnership Council, and the New Skills Ready Nashville grant. His commitment to fostering career pathways and work-based learning has laid the groundwork for substantial advancements in regional workforce development. In his new role as Chief Talent Development Officer, Daryl will build on these successes to spearhead innovative strategies that empower the local workforce, expand educational opportunities, and cultivate enduring partnerships that drive Nashville’s economic and community prosperity.

“Our decision to promote Shelly and Daryl reflects their proven ability to integrate innovative thinking with practical leadership,” said Stephanie Coleman, President & CEO of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce. “At a pivotal moment in our growth, their unique blend of expertise and forward-looking vision is exactly what we need to drive our Partnership 2030 goals and to invest in the region’s long-term prosperity. Shelly’s focus on livability and policy, paired with Daryl’s commitment to educational and workforce opportunities, will be central to creating lasting positive impact for all Middle Tennesseans.
