Nashville, Tenn. (TN Tribune)–Coy Roy, a founding member, principal songwriter, and former lead guitarist of the Grammy-nominated band NEEDTOBREATHE. After 2 years away from the band and social media, Bo is rechristening himself as Coy Roy as he leaps into releasing a candid look at his child abuse and addiction-ridden past with childlike wonder and self-realization to his amassed and loyal following.
“Coy Roy is an embodiment of a new place that provides me the space to express myself freely, maybe for the first time,” says Bo. “It is an honest account of my journey without blaming anyone else, rooted solely in self-reflection or an inward dive into the trauma that hijacked my life – until now.”
Bo chats about the journey that has led him to find the courage to release his new music as direct conversations with the child version of himself he left in the past. His first single “I’m Right Here” is releasing on all platforms on September 9th, 2022 with subsequent singles surrounding the conversations with his inner child to follow.
