Memphis, TN (TN Tribune) — The JB Smiley, Jr. for Governor campaign is proud to announce the endorsement of over 20 current and former elected officials from across Tennessee. They join Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), who endorsed JB last week.
“It is humbling that these distinguished public servants are supporting this campaign,” declared Smiley. “But the hard work of bringing new leadership to Nashville, leadership that all Tennesseeans can believe in, is only just beginning, and I am thankful to have these individuals, all with an extensive legacy of helping their communities, be a part of this work.”

In a little over a month, leaders from across Tennessee have recognized the change that the JB Smiley, Jr. for Governor campaign is working to bring to Nashville, and the need for new leadership to better support all Tennessee families. That is why they have endorsed his campaign and are standing with JB Smiley, Jr. as he works to bring Tennesseeans from every community together to fight for a better Volunteer State.

A native Memphian, JB Smiley Jr. is an attorney and a member of the Memphis City Council. As a council member, JB is Chair of the Public Works, Transportation, and General Services Committee and the council liaison for the Urban Art Commission. On the City Council, JB has delivered for his community, implementing the Memphis Academy of Civic Engagement, the Memphis Police Department Transparency Portal, and amending the Eviction Set Out Ordinance.
