(AP) _ Health officials in Tennessee have linked a small coronavirus cluster to last month’s meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention, Nashville’s first large-scale conference after lifting restrictions on gatherings, The Tennessean reported. Metro Public Health Department epidemiologist Leslie Waller said eight to 10 infections have been detected among the more than 18,000 attendees, but the cluster is almost certainly larger. MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) _ The National Civil Rights Museum in Tennessee has named longtime educator and philanthropist Russell Wigginton as its next president. The Memphis-based museum said Thursday that Wigginton will assume the role of president on Aug. 1 after a five-month national search. Wigginton replaces Terri Lee Freeman, who announced her retirement in December. Wigginton graduated from Memphis-based Rhodes College and has worked at the liberal arts school for 23 years as a history professor and senior-level administrator. NASHVILLE, TN — The Tennessee Higher Education Prison Initiative (THEI) announces a new secondary educational partnership with the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) and Lane College, a nearly 150-year-old Historical Black College and University (HBCU) in West Tennessee.
