by Herschel Dov Mosheson I am writing this on May 31st 2021, Memorial Day, the last day of both Asian-American Heritage Month and Jewish-American Heritage Month. I’ve spent much of the morning thinking back to late April 2019. It feels so long ago now. I had recently come home from a deployment to the Middle East and there had just been a synagogue shooting in my own hometown of San Diego. In solidarity with my people, I went to morning services on a Sunday morning, the day after the shooting. It was a small service fitting the size of the…

Robbie Melton, who runs TSU’s coding program, said the idea is to get African students interested in STEM careers and increase the number of Black students entering those fields. The participating schools are the African Methodist Episcopal University and its…
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) _ Tennessee licensed a shelter for immigrant children a year before the state’s Republican governor and U.S. Senators began expressing outrage over unaccompanied minors being sent to Chattanooga. Gov. Bill Lee tweeted last week that President Joe Biden’s administration needs to “secure the border & stop scattering children across the country” after a local television station aired footage of children arriving at a Chattanooga airport and boarding buses in the middle of the night. Lee noted that the state had declined an earlier request by the administration to house immigrant children in Tennessee National Guard facilities. Unaccompanied…

By Donald Lee Texas Metro News There is a hurting world out there, not just in the church, but outside of the church — the body of Christ — and that world is in dire need of some ready saints to go out and witness to it. For this to happen, the people in the church should take kingdom business seriously. The church should never be looked at, especially by those who it comprises, as a “social club.” Yeah, though you “join the church,” you don’t “join the kingdom.” In other words, the saints should have a church that they…
TBT News—Marijuana is no longer a ‘dirty little secret.’ Weed sales are soaring in Illinois, and the pandemic is helping. But it’s absolutely true when the world reports that Illinois and Chicago are the most racist state and city in America. And to prove it, the weed game or lack of it for minorities has been a big fat zero. There are other states and cities where Black folks are flourishing with their weed game. But in Chicago Black entrepreneurs struggle to join the legal weed industry. Many African Americans are concerned that a lack of access to capital…
