NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) _ Tennessee State is conducting a study to test the feasibility of becoming the first historically black university to field varsity men’s and women’s ice hockey teams. (AP) _ The white former president of Pilot Co., the nation’s largest fuel retailer, wants a Black federal judge to recuse himself from overseeing the retrial of a fraud case against him. In court filings last week, Mark Hazelwood claimed the judge appeared biased against him after hearing a recording of Hazelwood making racist remarks at the first trial, the Knoxville News Sentinel reported. (AP) _ Country singer Morgan Wallen will be eligible for multiple awards at this year’s CMA Awards but not the show’s top prize, a sign of the continuing fallout after he was caught on camera using a racial slur. NASHVILLE, TN – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has approved the Pfizer COVID vaccine for teenagers. Any day now, it is expected to approve Moderna’s vaccine for children ages 12-17. In recently completed clinical trials by the vaccine-makers, the Pfizer shots were 100% effective; the Moderna vaccine was 96% effective. The dosage for teens is the same as for adults.
