    Five Voorhees students receive UNCF scholarships

    DENMARK, SC — Voorhees University proudly announces that five outstanding students have been awarded prestigious scholarships from the United Negro College Fund (UNCF). Ja’Myah Haynes has been recognized for her academic excellence along with student athletesDiamond Bullard, Dayreontae Foster, Julius Phillips, and Bryce Wilson who have been recognized for their academic achievements and athletic prowess, all receiving significant financial support to further their education.   

    Ja’Myah Haynes, a junior Business Administration major from Orangeburg, SC, was awarded $5000 from the Lena King Lee Endowed Scholarship.

    Diamond Bullard, a senior basketball player majoring in sports management hailing from Bronx, NY, was also honored with the Lena King Lee Endowed Scholarship, a $5000 award.

    Julius Phillips, a senior basketball player and Mass Communication major from Philadelphia, is the third Voorhees student awarded with the Lena King Lee Endowed Scholarship, receiving $5000 in support of his academic journey.

    Dayreontae Foster, a senior basketball player and Business Administration major from Dublin, GA, has been granted the $2000 AXA Achievement Endowed Scholarship for his outstanding contributions to academia and athletics.

    Bryce Wilson, a junior basketball player and Sports Management major from Atlanta, GA, has been the recipient of $5,000 from the Estate of Ada Williams Endowed Scholarship, recognizing his dedication to both athletics and academic excellence.

    The UNCF is renowned as the nation’s largest private scholarship provider for minority group members. With an unwavering commitment to educational equity, the UNCF awards over $100 million in scholarships annually to students attending more than 1,100 schools nationwide, including its esteemed network of 37 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

    These scholarships not only serve as a testament to the academic and athletic commitment of Diamond Bullard, Dayreontae Foster, Julius Phillips, Bryce Wilson and Ja’Myah Haynes, but also highlight Voorhees University’s dedication to supporting its student-athletes in achieving their full potential.
