NASHVILLE, TN — Robert Taylor has announced his candidacy for School Board District 1.
Metro Nashville Public Schools has undergone rapid change in the year. As our school system improves and continues to grow, the families deserve a representative who will work on their behalf to navigate the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
“MNPS has a lot of potential and I have experience mediating, building consensus and finding solutions to complex problems” said Robert. “If elected, I will work in collaboration to move MNPS forward and create opportunities for all families while protecting our most vulnerable students in our community.”
Mr. Taylor was the Program Manager for the New Life Program, a comprehensive Fatherhood
program at the Metro Public Health Department (MPHD) of Nashville Davidson County. The New Life Program was funded by a $4.5 million Federal grant charged with serving 500 fathers and their families per year from 2010 – 2013. Mr. Taylor brings a wealth of experience managing publicly funded programs wherever he serves.
Robert is a devoted husband to his amazing wife Adjoa, a graduate of Whites Creek HS, and father to their seven wonderful children. Robert is passionate about providing fathers and their families with the tools and support they need to be the parents that their children so desperately need. He puts his passion in action by managing all of the New Life Center Program Activities including the Training Camp for New Dads, the Fatherhood Development Program and strengthening families workshops.
