NASHVILLE, TN — The Tennessee Human Rights Commission will be celebrating it’s 60th Anniversary on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at the National Museum of African American Music in Nashville from 5:30-8 pm. 

The theme for the Anniversary is “Honoring the Past, Celebrating the Present, Safeguarding our Future: Marking 60 years of Civil Rights in Tennessee.” 

Taking place on the same date as the 60th Anniversary of the passing of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the event will commemorate important figures and moments of the Civil Rights Movement, celebrate the accomplishments of the THRC over the past 60 years, and highlight the state of Civil Rights today and in the future of Tennessee.

The event will feature hors d’oeuvres, refreshments, special guest speakers and live entertainment. The reception will take place in the Lobby of the National Museum of African American Music and the event program will occur in the Roots Theater. Seating in the Roots Theater will be reserved for Event Sponsors. Additional Seating will be available in the Museum Lobby for General Attendees. 

The Sponsorship Deadline is Friday, May 17, 2024. Sponsorships include:

The General Attendance Deadline is Friday, June 28, 2024. General Attendance for the 60th Anniversary is free to the public.
