Nashville, Tennessee – (August 11, 2016) – This fall students across Tennessee will be able to do something most kids can’t: vote for president of the United States. The Secretary of State’s office is pleased to announce Tennessee’s first ever Student Mock Election. Students in preschool through high school from all public and private schools as well as home school associations in Tennessee can participate. Paper ballots letting students choose between Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump will be provided, but schools may elect to include additional candidates or conduct elections locally in different ways.…

NASHVILLE — Track and field standout Clairwin Dameus (Boynton Beach, Fla.), a 2016 graduate of Tennessee State, will represent the United States at the North American, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) Athletics Association U23 Championships on July 13-18 in El Salvador. At the competition, Dameus will compete in the heptathlon, an event in which she earned USTFCCCA Honorable Mention All-America accolades during the 2016 outdoor season.
