This initiative commemorates Phillis Wheatley, the first African-American woman to publish a book in 1773. Nashville, Tenn. (TN Tribune)–Metro is nearing a $25,000 settlement with Robert Green, the former Nashville General Sessions Court probation director fired by Judge Lynda Jones in 2019. Green sued Metro and Jones in 2020, alleging that Jones used news reports about Green’s collaboration with federal immigration authorities as pretext to improperly dismiss him. The information sharing policy was approved by the Metro Legal Department and was not Green’s initiative, Judge Melissa Blackburn told Metro Council members. Final winners represent the diversity of the country and include mobile vaccination projects, Head Start partnerships, primary care texting strategies, and targeted support for children supported by resource families. YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Betty Wanda Junita Greene Armstrong, 94 of Youngstown, lovingly known as “Aunt Betty” by many, entered peacefully to her eternal rest Thursday, January 6, 2022, with her niece/guardian by her side. Betty was born September 7, 1927 in Youngstown, Ohio the eldest child to the union of Homer Lee, Sr. and Cora Mae Stalard Greene. She was affiliated with both the Catholic and Episcopalian faith.
