NASHVILLE, Tenn. – More than 400 people are in stable housing, thanks to a citywide effort involving Metro, the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency and several local nonprofits, Mayor John Cooper today announced. (July 15, 2021) – The University of Tennessee Health Science Center’s Office of Research announced that annual research grant and contract awards for FY21, which ended June 30, total more than $121 million, a 20.6% increase from last year. The FY21 research award total is $121,700,667. Roughly half of these funds come from federal sources. A five-time Emmy-nominated actress, best known for portraying sassy maid Florence Johnston on The Jeffersons, was joined by the show’s creator and producer Norman Lear and friend Tisha Campbell at the ceremony outside the El Capitan Entertainment Centre on Hollywood Boulevard.
