NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Nashville Electric Service announced it will not disconnect customers for non-payment until next month. The utility said it understands there are still lingering impacts for customers as Middle Tennessee continues to thaw following the winter storms. Due to mail delivery interruptions that could potentially delay power bills, NES has halted residential disconnections for nonpayment until March 1, 2021, according to a release. The Supreme Court cleared the way for a New York prosecutor to obtain former President Donald Trump’s tax returns, dealing a massive loss to Trump who has fiercely fought to shield his financial papers from prosecutors. Nashville, TN (TN Tribune)–Dr. Jack Macon was an enslaved man who practiced medicine in Maury, Bedford, Giles, Hickman, Williamson and Lincoln counties in the early 1800s. He was considered a “healer of remarkable talents” and eventually opened his own office. Many of his patients were white and petitioned the state legislature to allow him to practice when a law was passed forbidding people of African descent to be doctors.
