Jordan Peele is now one of Hollywood’s busiest producers, writers and actors, and he shows no signs of slowing down in 2020. His next project will be for Amazon and this week they released the first trailer for “Hunters.” It’s Peele’s production about Nazi hunters, and it’s also been renamed and retooled. The original title was “The Hunt.” Amazon has also announced the release date is Feb. 21. It’s a joint venture between Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and Sonar Entertainment, but was created by David Weil. Weil will also serve as head writer and executive producer.

The teaser can now be viewed online at the Shadow and Act website and also on Youtube. It has a topflight cast, with Al Pacino in a lead role, and also starring Logan Lerman, Tiffany Boone, Jerrika Hinton, Josh Radnor, Kate Mulvany, Greg Austin, Louis Ozawa Changchien, Carol Kane, Saul Rubinek, Dylan Baker, Lena Olin, Ebony Obsidian, Julissa Bermudez and Henry Hunter Hall.

The series isn’t set either during World War II or the present, but in late 70s New York. The group called The Hunters have discovered that somehow hundreds of high-ranking Nazi officers are planning to establish a Fourth Reich in America. The team sets out to stop them, and things are going to get rather violent and bloody quickly.

There’s been some criticism that Peele’s chosen Nazi hunting as the focus for his next work, but as with any creative entity, he doesn’t want to get pigeonholed. But he has promised that he will weave some 21st century themes into the storyline, and that there will be diversity in every phase of the production.
