Month-long Observance to Honor Tennessee’s Health and Beauty Professionals

Nashville, TN – State Representative Antonio Parkinson proudly announces that the month of April will be celebrated as “Barber, Beauty, and Health Month” across Tennessee (see attached flyer). This observance, ratified by a resolution passed in 2021, aims to showcase the vital contributions made by the individuals working within the health and beauty industries, and to elevate awareness about the importance of maintaining health and wellness.

“Over the years, Tennessee’s health and beauty professionals have played a significant role not only in enhancing our personal appearance but also in bolstering our community’s well-being,” stated Representative Parkinson. “From the skilled hands of barbers and hairstylists to the nurturing touch of beauticians and health advisors, these diligent men and women deserve recognition for helping Tennessee become a leading state for natural hair care and cosmetology. It is only fitting that we set aside a month to pay tribute to these essential service providers.”

The declaration of April as “Barber, Beauty, and Health Month” invites citizens across the state to participate in celebrating and showing appreciation for professionals who contribute tirelessly to our daily lives. These individuals often go above and beyond to ensure we look, feel, and indeed become our best selves.

During this month, Tennesseans are encouraged to demonstrate gratitude through acts of kindness and patronage of local businesses within this industrious sector.

Key points for this joyous month include:

    1. Recognizing the diligent work and dedication of those in the health and beauty industries.
    2. Encouraging residents to support local barbers, hairstylists, cosmetologists, and health practitioners.
    3. Increasing awareness about the need for proper health and wellness.

By spotlighting the excellence and steadfastness of these professionals, we aim to foster communal respect and admiration for the valuable services they render. “Barber, Beauty, and Health Month” is a time for celebration, appreciation, and unity as we acknowledge those who dedicate themselves to the art and science of beauty and wellbeing. Representative Parkinson remains committed to supporting and advancing initiatives that honor the significant roles that every citizen plays in making Tennessee a state where community and professionalism thrive
