    New Documentary Spotlights Blues Performer Shepherd

    NASHVILLE, TN — Blues vocalist and guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd has demonstrated consistent excellence and imagination as a stylist and a soloist, creating a sound that has a firm foundation in traditional blues, while also incorporating influences from rock and pop. Now the Shepherd approach will be spotlighted, along with his current and past music, in a new documentary film that will get a Nashvile premiere Monday night at the Belcourt Theatre.

    Shepherd, who’s earned five Grammy nominations, is featured in the production Trouble Is…25’.” Proceeds will benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Tennessee, This is a multi-purpose event, with the screening beginning at 4pm central time. it will be followed by a special address by Shepherd. Then he’ll be joined in a performance with his long-time vocalist Noah Hunt. 

    “Trouble is..25” contains exclusive interviews and performances with original band members, as well as conversations with producer Jerry Harrison and Shepherd’s longtime songwriting partners.

    The film is part of a series of upcoming releases celebrating Shepherd’s seminal, breakthrough album ’Trouble Is…,.” The documentary’s national release date is December 2. The complete package includes the complete album and a live DVD film in Shepherd’s hometown of Shreveport, which featured the band performing the album in its entirety. The documentary also spotlights the blues clubs of Louisiana, which is where Shepherd honed and developed his talents. “Trouble Is” was his second LP, and it was the one that cemented his stature on the blues scene. 

    The Nashville premiere of the documentary “Trouble is…25” at the Belcourt Theatre, 2102 Belcourt Avenue, Monday, Nov. 21 at 4 pm.
