Meharry Medical College alumnus Fred D. Parrott Jr., M.D. ’58, physician, mentor and philanthropist, died January 14th. During his 70-year career in medicine, he dedicated himself to improving health care, particularly for minorities and the underserved. He was an enthusiastic supporter of scholarships for students attending HBCU medical schools—particularly his alma mater.
