(WITN) – A national theater chain is apologizing and its CEO will meet with a well-known civil rights activist and church leader after he was kicked out of their Greenville movie theater. Greenville police confirm that officers were called to the AMC Fire Tower 12 around 3:20 p.m. Tuesday for a trespassing call. Lt. The Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS) Board of Education named three superintendent finalists during a Special Called Meeting on December 19. After tallying the rubrics, consultant Tomeka Hart Wigginton revealed that the School Board and the community both selected the same finalists, and the Board voted to approve the following slate: The School Board interviewed five semi-finalists on December 15 that were thoroughly vetted by search firm, Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA). (TN Tribune)-Mayor Freddie O’Connell has approved use of funds from the Nashville GRAD program to include Nashville Flex program participants, giving part-time students at Nashville State Community College important support to complete their degree. Since 2019, the Metro Council has supported the Nashville GRAD program that was launched from the mayor’s office. The Nashville GRAD program provides eligible students with financial and academic support while pursuing a full-time education at Nashville State. NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nearly 190 Soldiers from the Tennessee National Guard’s 730th Composite Supply Company returned to Tennessee after a successful ten-month deployment overseas, Dec. 14. The 730th, which is based in Memphis, is a quartermaster unit comprised of National Guardsmen trained in various logistics and supply specialties which sustain combat units with water, fuel, food, and supplies. The unit deployed to Kuwait this past February and sent teams to Jordan and various other countries in the Middle East to support other deployed military units.
