NASHVILLE, TN — Members of the Fairfield M. B. Church joined with several motorcycle clubs totaling more than 200 cyclists, and travelled to Louisville, Kentucky to visit the family of Breonna Taylor. The 26 year-old medical

technician was killed shortly after midnight on March 13, when three plainclothes Louisville Policemen used a battering jam for forced entry into their home. They shot 26 times with eight bullets hitting Taylor.

Pastor Howard E. Jones, Jr., senior pastor at Fairfield, led the group and said it was good to show love and support to Breonna’s mother, Tamika Palmer, other family and friends of Ms. Taylor. “While we are providing support for the family during this time, as a people we need to focus on next steps; what we must do, and how we will accomplish it,” Pastor Jones said.

The recent killings of Breonna Taylor and many other African American men and women throughout the nation have prompted protests and outcries of systemic racist acts by law enforcement officers and others.  Many feel some law enforcement officers and others are determined to destroy and kill African American men and this must change.

Pastor Jones said, a unified plan must be developed of informed and committed individuals.  “We must show we are interconnected and work together for a positive

change among all the people throughout the nation and the world.  No peace, no justice, he added.”

The theme for the men’s focus for the month of June at Fairfield M. B. Church in Goodlettsville is “UnShakable.”   It was under this umbrella the group decided to include visiting the family of Ms. Taylor.  The group wanted to further demonstrate the word Unshakable is not just an idle word but action.

“We are all inter-connected.  Working, praying, supporting and protecting together, is what we must do for a brighter future,” added Pastor Jones.”
