Delicious barbecue and sides, entertaining music and a children’s play area promoted a very family oriented event. “This event is a great opportunity for District 2 residents to connect with one another and enjoy an asset in our district,” said District 2 Metro Coincilmember, DeCosta Hastings.
Many of the almost 300 people enjoy grilled hamburgers, and hotdogs, from Harold’s chicken, and pork shoulders from Jack’s Bar-B-Que. Other businesses such as Savage & Co., Imperial Cleaning Systems and D+M helped sponsor the event as well. Many elected officials and candidates for public office stopped in to campaign.
Attendees were able to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy fireworks from a great viewpoint looking south toward Downtown Nashville. Council member Hastings said, “ I am looking forward to continuing to move our district forward and make this an annual event. I need the voter’s support to be re-elected on August 1st. “
