making for a hugely successful event. Over 800 generous supporters and volunteers attended this year’s prestigious event chaired by heart and stroke survivor Dr. Herman Williams and his wife, Jeannie.

Presented as a mini-musical loosely based on the lives of the Williams’, the evening’s theme was “Imagine You’re Part of the Story” and utilized song and dance to portray what a world free of heart disease and stroke would entail.

Impactful moments included the presentation of the Martin E. Simmons Award to Becky and Dick Cowart to honor their selfless giving and the impact they have made on the mission of the American Heart Association. Additionally, pediatric heart survivor Caleb Aslinger and his family were honored during the evening’s Open Your Heart moment. The crowd joyously celebrated Caleb’s one-year “heart-iversary” marking one year since he received a new heart via transplant. Watch his incredible story here.

Finally, many of our local hospital partners volunteered their time for our “Hospitals With Heart” video that brings to light what a world free of heart disease and stroke would truly
