NASHVILLE, TN — KEVA Inc. will be hosting its 7th Annual Citywide Silence the Violence in Nashville. The event is scheduled for August 19, 10 am to 7 pm, at Hadley Park.
The purpose of the event is to educate the community on how to prevent violence, and the need of strong networking to make the city of Nashville a safer place to Live. There will be entertainment for the children and youth.
The NAACP will provide back to school supplies. The NAACP will also be hosting a membership drive.
There will be food vendors and information booths available.
“This year we will focus on hearing the voices of our youth. I feel that we are not listening to the youth, and now, they are refusing to talk to us,” explained Rev. Venita Lewis, executive director of KEVA Inc.
“With the killings at the Covenant School, and the recent shooting at the Bordeaux Library, this is clearly a city-wide epidemic,” said Rev. Lewis.
The event is Saturday, August 19th from 10 am to 8 pm, booth space is $150.
