The 34th annual Southern Festival of Books begins Friday and continues through Sunday at both War Memorial Plaza and the Nashville Public Library. Both top fiction and nonfiction writers as well as poets and playwrights will be in the spotlight. All events are free and open to the public.

NASHVILLE, TN — One of the year’s biggest events for fans of literature, nonfiction and fiction work is being held this weekend. The 34th annual Southern Festival of Books starts Friday and continues through Sunday at the War Memorial Plaza and the Nashville Public Library. This year’s event is titled “A Celebration of the Written Word.”

The festival features readings, panel discussions, a bookfair, author signings, and music performances for poets, fiction writers, and nonfiction writers. Participating authors include fiction writers Julie Otsuka and Peng Shepherd; and nonfiction writers Rick Bragg, Patrick Radden Keefe, Imani Perry, and Margo Price. Festival events are free and open to the public. 

Accessibility accommodations include elevators in all multilevel event spaces; accessible sidewalks, pathways, and doorways; ADA-compliant port-a-potties; desginated ADA seating; ramps; and accessible parking spaces.
