SMYRNA, TN — Mildred Floyd passed away peacefully on May 9, 2022, at the age of 93. A former First Lady of Tennessee State University, she is preceded in death by her husband Otis L. Floyd Jr. and her son Otis L. Floyd III. She is survived by children Paulette Floyd (Thomas), Sylvia Davis (Bob) and Reginald Floyd Sr. (Leona), and a host of other family and friends. Attorney Fred Gray of Tuskegee will be awarded an honorary doctor of laws degree during the law school’s graduation ceremony on Sunday afternoon, the university said in a statement.
