Researchers in Nashville need volunteers for the NIH-funded AHEAD Study this winter and beyond. November is Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month and researchers at Vanderbilt University Medical Center are looking for volunteers to join the AHEAD Study which tests whether intervening ahead of Alzheimer’s symptoms can prevent future memory loss and dementia. Most people have been or will be touched by Alzheimer’s disease—whether it’s family members, friends, neighbors or colleagues. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (November 10, 2022) – Metro Public Health Department officials confirm a total of 158 presumptive cases of monkeypox reported in Nashville/Davidson County in 2022. 142 of those 158 cases have recovered and are no longer in isolation. The total number of cases has grown by one in the past week. Laboratory testing can detect the presence of an orthopoxvirus infection. Confirmatory testing is conducted by the CDC.
