NASHVILLE – Effective immediately, the Tennessee Department of Agriculture Division of Forestry (TDF) is suspending public access to the eastern half of Franklin State Forest in Franklin and Marion Counties. This step follows serious threats against the safety of visitors to and professionals working within the forest. This week, criminals claimed to have spiked areas of the forest where loggers are conducting a harvest operation. Clarksville, TN, Oct. 17, 2024 — The Tennessee River Chapter of the American Red Cross is seeking volunteers to help install free smoke alarms for local families during a Sound the Alarm home fire safety event in Clarksville on Saturday, Oct. 19. The Red Cross is uniting with local fire departments and city and county leaders for this annual event. NASHVILLE – WeGo Public Transit has a list available of bus routes that serve early voting locations in Davidson County. This may be found at:  https://www.wegotransit.com/community/early-voting/. The Transit App will have route direction available for polling sites on Election Day, November 5. And a reminder that there will be free rides on Election Day for WeGo bus service within Davidson County. No special measures are needed for riders to take advantage of this opportunity: they can simply board the bus and go. This is a practice that has been implemented in previous general elections.
