NASHVILLE, TN — Building an audience and expanding a fan base remains an ongoing task for most musicians, and even more so for those working in styles outside the pop or Top 40 worlds.
Jazz, blues and classic pop vocalist Brauninger McDaniel has steadily attracted more fans throughout middle Tennessee with her bright, melodically striking brand of 21st century jazz flavored vocals.
McDaniel has played several different area venues, and this week she will be appearing Thursday and Saturday at the Doubletree Hotel by the airport.
McDaniel has also expanded her profile by having a couple of her songs on the soundtrack of a couple of short films, and she credits Qwess Kross 50/50 Muzic, who are partners with Sony Entertainment and the Orchard Publishing Sony ATV, with giving her steadily growing career a big boost.
The next few months are going to be critical for McDaniel, who acknowledges being “a little bit nervous.” A past winner, she’s up for four nominations at the August 5 Issa Awards.
Then there’s an upcoming album that will spotlight her treatments of vintage and contemporary material.
In the meantime, she continues moving forward with what she calls “our family affair.”
With her husband Tony spearheading publicity and son Christian joining her on guitar, Brauninger McDaniel hopes the rest of 2023 will truly prove her breakout time.
