    August 4

    Wearable Surfaces Fashion Show. It’s a preview party for Wearable Surfaces. The show will be on display at Zeitgeist Gallery from August 5th-26th, 2017. benefiting The Sewing Training Academy. Fashion Happening Nashville and Zeitgeist Gallery are bringing together seven local fashion designers and artists to work together on an original garment incorporating textiles created by the artist. Guests can mingle with the designers, enjoy cocktails and listen to cool music during the private preview. LOCATION: Zeitgeist Gallery, 516 Hagan Street , Suite 100, Nashville. TIME: 6-9 pm.

    The Arts Company Presents Tank 615 Introducing Tank Chicken!  The Arts Company welcomes a fun angle to the summer artistic season by presenting Tank Chicken, an interactive sculpture created to provide excitement, creativity, as well as large eggs to 5th Avenue of the Arts.

    August 5 – 6

    Deep Tropics Music Art and Style Festival. Two days with two eye-catching stages featuring performances by forward-thinking artists, musicians, muralists, and tastemakers from all over the world. LOCATION: War Memorial Auditorium 301 Sixth Avenue North, Nashville. TIME:  Starts at 2 pm.

    August 11 – 12

    Tomato Art Festival. Located in Historic East Nashville’s Five Points, the Tomato Art Fest had nearly 60,000 attendees. It’s a FREE event and it’s costume-friendly. LOCATION: 5 Points East Nashville 1024 Woodland Street. Contact: https://www.tomatoartfest.com/

    August 18 – 19

    Defy Film Festival. The second year of Defy Film Festival, Nashville’s newest film exhibition, will take place at Studio 615 in East Nashville. Studio 615 – 272 Broadmoor Drive, Nashville. The Defy Film Festival is disruptive. It’s inspiring. It’s curating films for audiences that resist traditional processes to elevate experimentation and create conversations.

    August 24

    Wild & Scenic Film Festival. This film festival inspires environmental activism and will motivate you to go out and make a difference in your community and the world to protect and restore rivers and clean water.

    August 25

    Nashville Ballet will hold auditions for School of Nashville Ballet children to join the youth cast for The Sleeping Beauty! The Sleeping Beauty will take place at TPAC’s Jackson Hall September 23-24, 2017. Children 5-7 year olds (must be born in 2011) (School of Nashville Ballet students ONLY). LOCATION: Nashville Ballet 3630 Redmon Street Nashville. TIME: TBA. CONTACT: (615) 297-2966.
