Make A Play Hospitality Announces The Opening Of Jar10 Newly Renovated Cocktail Lounge Now Open In The Space Formerly Known As Jar

Make a Play Hospitality has completed the renovation and rebrand of their popular lounge, formerly known as Jar, in Hillsboro Village. The hospitality group re-opened the new space as Jar10 on Thursday, September 5, complete with an updated look, extended hours, and new menu items. The speakeasy-style lounge is an extension of its sister restaurant, Bungalow10, and offers brunch on weekends, late night snacks and premium shisha experiences.

The 3,600-square-foot space has undergone a makeover, carrying Bungalow10’s tropical feel over in the design including a palm leaf wallpaper accenting the walls. The space is still able to accommodate up to 250 guests with a variety of seating options, from intimate lounge booths in jewel-toned pops of fuschia and royal blue, to cabana style seating and a bar. A lofted area provides space for a DJ, who will provide a soundtrack to the evening every night, spinning mostly Top 40, hip hop and 90s and 2000s hits.

Jar10 has a curated selection of premium shisha, also known as hookah, in 18 flavors including Fruity Pebbles, Lemon Cheesecake, “Jar Mix” and California Breeze. Guests can customize their shisha experience with add ons and additions, including candy tips, ice tips, a milk base or a fruit-filled bottom.

The menu, crafted by Culinary Director Brandon Truesdale, consists of a selection of Bungalow10’s gourmet dishes and small plates that showcase both local and international flavors, including empanadas, a St. Louis style fried rice, a red snapper dish, Land and Sea Burgers and salmon bites. A late night menu of select bites is offered on Friday and Saturday evenings, including wings, pastrami fries and pizzas.

On Saturdays and Sundays, a bottomless brunch collaboration with Chef Jerod Wilcher and ButterFLY Garden Brunch offers bottomless mimosas and brunch menu items for $50 a person. The five-course menu includes waffle biscuits and crawfish gravy, a “loaded waffles” brunch platter, shrimp and grits and Hennessy and honey wings.

“We are ecstatic to reintroduce Hillsboro Village to Jar10,” states Make a Play Hospitality co-owner Robert Higgins. “By adding brunch, late night snacks and hookah, Jar10 is completing our vision for Belcourt Square. With Supper Club, Bungalow10, Sunset on Belcourt and now Jar10 we have a little something for everyone, and we’re so excited to welcome people through our doors for an unforgettable experience from start to finish.”

Jar10’s signature cocktail menu features some of Jar’s staple cocktails, including Smoking Mirrors, Late Night Alibi and Welcome to Paradise, as well as some new frozen drinks that bring in the tropical vibes of Bungalow10. Several large format and celebration cocktails are new to the menu as well, including a cocktail carousel, which includes an assortment of twelve cocktail shooters on a ferris wheel, as well as lemon drop and margarita trees.
