    To the Nashville Community,

    The Tennessee Tribune, the only African-American statewide audited newspaper, spotlighting positive achievements of citizens, local and national, on November 1, celebrates 25 years of continuous publishing.

    During the quarter century, we have covered and chronicled the news in Metropolitan Nashville, Memphis, Jackson, Chattanooga and other areas and places of significance to our diverse readership.

    We have been so fortunate to publish The Tennessee Tribune under the administrations of four distinguished Mayors; Philip Bredesen 1991-1999, Bill Purcell, 1999-2007, Karl Dean, 2007-2015, and Megan Barry, 2015-present. This is historical in the state of Tennessee for an African American newspaper.

    We thank you for your support for this milestone year event, which is being presented by the Anthony J. Cebrun Journalism Center, providing tutorial and practical journalism experience for students. The center is housed within The Tennessee Tribune headquarters at the Tennessee Tribune Bldg., 1501 Jefferson Street, Nashville, TN 37208.

    The Cebrun Center has welcomed more than 60 students since its inception, giving them vital training in journalism and media skills in preparation for various professional careers.

    The Tribune specializes in recognizing all the positive activities and notable attributes and accomplishments in the African American Community as well as the general community each week. While we rigorously cover city affairs and politics, as well as the arts and sports, our overall focus is always an upbeat one, and we urge unity and working together to build a a greater Nashville.

    On behalf of the entire staff of The Tennessee Tribune and our interns who learned at the foot of giants during these 25 years, I sincerely thank you. Additionally, I am grateful for your support in years past, as well as during our Silver Anniversary Celebration.

    I am looking forward to another 25 years of publishing The Tennessee Tribune with your support.

    Sincerely;

    Rosetta Miller Perry
