Shonda Rhimes has an extensive and impressive track record in Hollywood as one of the most prolific and outstanding producers and creators in television. Her many projects include the long-running ABC series “Grey’s Anatomy” and the big streaming hit “Bridgerton,” as well as the iconic “Scandal.”
But another of Rhimes’ passions is golf, and last week she took it to another level.
Rhimes became the owner of the Los Angeles Golf Club, the first team in the TGL league. On Instagram she shared, “I can’t wait to bring my passion for golf to this incredible venture. Joining this team is an honor, and as someone who believes in the power of storytelling and community, I’m eager to see how we can elevate the game together.”
This announcement comes as Rhimes, who once worked almost exclusively in broadcast television, has expanded her impact thanks to a major deal that her company Shondaland has with Netflix. The third season of “Bridgerton” debuted June 13, and is part of a long-term project by Rhimes and partner Betsy Beers to bring all eight of Julia Quinn’s novels to the screen.
They also have a consumer products line that includes tea seas, ornate mirrors, makeup and wedding dresses.
