    Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball Announces 2025 Season in Nashville, Bringing Professional Women’s Basketball to Music City

    Nashville, Tenn. (TN Tribune)-Athletes Unlimited and the City of Nashville held a press conference on Thursday, October 24, at the National Museum of African American Music to celebrate the upcoming arrival of AU Pro Basketball to Music City in 2025. The league’s fourth annual season will be held at Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium, marking an exciting new chapter for professional basketball in the city.

    The press conference featured remarks from several key figures, including Megan Perry, Head of AU Pro Basketball, Monica Fawkotson of Metro Government, Nashville City Council Members Brenda Gadd and Jacob Kupin, Adrienne Siemers from the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp, Scott Ramsey of the Nashville Sports Council, and Sheila Gibson from the Women in Sports Initiative. Speakers expressed enthusiasm about the league’s potential to make a lasting impact on both Nashville’s community and its growing sports scene.

    AU Pro Basketball, known for its innovative and competitive format, brings together top-tier athletes for a four-week competition. The championship season will run from February 5 to March 2, 2025, with a 24-game campaign that promises playoff-level intensity in every match. The league, which emphasizes individual performance alongside team success, features world-class talent. During the 2024 season, 29 of the 40 players had WNBA experience, underscoring the elite level of competition that will be on display.

    Group and season ticket deposits for the upcoming season are available now. The full roster of 40 players, along with the complete schedule, broadcast details, and game times, will be announced in the coming months.

    What sets AU Pro Basketball apart is its unique scoring innovations. Athletes accumulate points based on both team wins and individual performance, with points awarded on every play. The constant shifts in the leaderboard keep fans on their toes, and team rosters change weekly, with the top four athletes acting as captains to draft their squads. At the end of the four-week season, the player with the most points is crowned the league’s individual champion.

    As women’s basketball continues to explode in popularity, Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball will bring professional women’s basketball to Nashville, Tenn., as the Nashville Municipal Auditorium will host the league’s fourth championship season this winter. The 24-game campaign will run from February 5 – March 2, 2025. With a four-week competition promoting playoff-level intensity in every game, AU Pro Basketball features world-class talent – during the 2024 season, 29 of the 40 players had WNBA experience – competing to be crowned individual champion.

    Group and season ticket deposits for the upcoming season are available now. The 40-player roster, as well as the full schedule for the 2025 AU Pro Basketball season, including broadcast information, game dates and times will be announced at a later date.

    AU Pro Basketball features a range of scoring innovations to bring athletes and fans a unique and intense version of the sport, while featuring a traditional full-court five-on-five format. Individual athletes earn points based on both team wins and individual performance to become the champions in team sports. Points are earned on every play and the leaderboard will change constantly. In addition, teams change each week with the top four athletes in the standings serving as captains and drafting their teams. At the end of the four-week season, the player with the most points is crowned as the league’s individual champion.

    Previous seasons of AU Pro Basketball took place in Las Vegas (2022) and Dallas (2023 & 2024). Allisha Gray won the 2024 AU Pro Basketball title, joining NaLyssa Smith (2023) and Tianna Hawkins (2022) as AU Pro Basketball Champions.
