    Citizens Savings Bank and Trust Co. Mourns the Passing of Dr. T.B. Boyd III

    NASHVILLE, Tenn., – May 6, 2022 – The board of directors for the nation’s oldest
    continuously operating African American owned and operated bank, Citizens Savings
    Bank and Trust Company, is deeply saddened by the passing of its Chairman Emeritus,
    Dr. T.B. Boyd, III who died on Tuesday at the age of 75. The board extends its
    sympathies to the Boyd family for this immense loss, especially to Dr. LaDonna Boyd,
    fifth generation CEO of R.H. Boyd Publishing Corporation, who currently serves on the
    bank’s board of directors.

    “Dr. Boyd was intricately involved in the institution and his commitment to the
    importance of the bank in the Nashville community and the nation never deviated,”
    says Richard Manson, Chairman of the Board, Citizens Savings Bank and Trust
    Company. “We’re saddened by his passing and know that the mantle has been passed
    to us now. We will honor his legacy as we continue to grow this institution and serve
    the community.”

    Dr. T.B. Boyd III served on the board of directors of Citizens Savings Bank and Trust
    Company for more than 40 years when it was owned and operated by the Boyd family,
    having been founded by Rev. Dr. Richard Henry Boyd in 1904.

    “The mission of Citizens Savings Bank and Trust Company to economically empower
    generations was deeply ingrained in the vision and values of Dr. Boyd,” says Sergio Ora,
    CEO, Citizens Savings Bank and Trust Company. “We honor Dr. Boyd’s legacy and are
    incredibly grateful for his leadership and service to the community. Our heartfelt
    condolences to Dr. LaDonna Boyd and the entire Boyd family.”

    The bank and board of directors will make a contribution to the R.H. Boyd Family
    Endowment Fund in Dr. Boyd’s honor. Tax-deductible donations may be made at
