NASHVILLE, TN — The Institute of Real Estate Management ® (IREM) has announced that Freeman Webb Company has been awarded its 2017 Accredited Management Organization® (AMO) of the Year in its Real Estate Management Excellence® (REME) program. This international award is given to the company that best exemplifies the organization’s goals of providing professional, ethical real estate management services.  IREM expects their accredited organizations to provide innovative, leading-edge business practices and initiatives, to share successful initiatives and to foster further innovation within the real estate management industry, both locally and globally.  Chosen from a pool of over 1,100 AMOs across the globe, Freeman Webb Company was selected as the company that best exemplified IREM’s exacting principles.

“I am delighted to congratulate Freeman Webb on achieving the 2017 REME Award for AMO® of the Year,” says Mike Lanning, CPM®, 2017 IREM® President, Cushman & Wakefield, Kansas City, MO.  “Their organization not only meets, but exceeds, the high industry standards that all AMO® firms are expected to uphold. The great environment they provide for their employees translates into the great service that they provide their clients.”

Freeman Webb Company is a full-service real estate investment and management firm that specializes in the acquisition, management and rehabilitation of multi-family residential and commercial properties. Bill Freeman and Jimmy Webb founded Freeman Webb Company in 1979 with one employee. Almost four decades later, Freeman Webb Company has a nearly $2 billion portfolio valuation and over 450 employees, including in-house legal, marketing and construction divisions that allow the firm to best serve investors, clients and residents.

“We are so proud to have been selected as IREM’s AMO of the year.  Winning our industry’s version of the Super Bowl is an honor,” stated Co-Founder and President Jimmy Webb. “We are grateful for the recognition of our hard work and dedication to excellence by everyone here at Freeman Webb Company. Our company has been in the business of managing residential communities for more than 38 years. We have grown from a company that could only afford one employee at its beginning to now employing over 450 people.  We started out with one apartment complex, and now manage nearly 15,000 units across four states. Despite our solid growth, we pride ourselves on maintaining that sense of family and community that was the foundation on which Freeman Webb Company was built. We want our employees to feel valued, our residents to feel appreciated and our clients to feel they can rely on us.”

Freeman Webb Company has been a staunch advocate for IREM through the years, through encouraging its employees to obtain industry designations and professional accreditation. “We encourage and support our employees to pursue these important professional designations and to actively participate in industry associations,” commented Co-Founder and Chairman Bill Freeman. “Freeman Webb Company was the first company in Nashville to receive the AMO designation. AMO firms are elite organizations that set the standards for excellence in property and asset management. Although education and experience play major roles in achieving the AMO designation, it is integrity and commitment to professionalism on which the reputation of the AMO finally rests.”

Freeman Webb Company currently employs 17 Accredited Residential Managers and seven Certified Property Managers, and two individuals have been selected in recent years for IREM’s prestigious Accredited Residential Manager of the Year award, given to only one Property Manager in the country each year. “This is an unprecedented achievement for any company, and we are proud that Freeman Webb Company has such capable individuals as part of our team. Without such dedicated employees, Freeman Webb Company simply would not be the successful company we are today, ” stated Webb.

“Freeman Webb Company has advanced the real estate management industry by demonstrating that a privately-held, family-owned business can be innovative, diversified and adaptive in one of the hottest and most competitive markets in the nation,” commented Freeman. “We take the greatest measure of pride in knowing that we have provided substantial support to Nashville and its citizens as a whole.”

Freeman Webb Company is proud to be one of the largest owner / operators of apartments in middle and east Tennessee, and own and/or manage more than 16 million square feet of multi-family, office, and retail space throughout the Southeast and Midwest. Freeman Webb Company is an Accredited Management Organization (AMO) as designated by the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) with a portfolio of over 15,000 multifamily units across Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama and Missouri.
