NASHVILLE, TN —Thanksgiving week is proving more special than usual for Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell. Not only are they starring in “Good Burger 2,” which is streaming this week on Paramount +, but they will be riding in the Burgermobile at Macy’s famous Thanksgiving Day Parade. It will be airing on NBC (locally WSMV-4) at 7:30 a.m. CT and also streamed on Peacock. This will be the 97th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Though it had previously been announced that the Bugermobile would be part of the Parade, Thompson and Mitchell’s participation wasn’t announced until last Tuesday. The car  is described as weighing over 5,000 pounds, with a burger hood and french fry bumper. The film’s teaser trailer debuted last week and can still be viewed online at various websites.

“Good Burger 2” initially debuted the day before Thanksgiving on Paramount+. It’s the followup to the beloved Nickelodeon film in which Mitchell and Thompson starred after Mitchell originated the character of Good Burger’s most loyal employee, Ed, on the Nickelodeon sketch comedy show “All That.” Along with Thompson and Mitchell, the cast for the sequel includes Lil Rel Howery, Jillian Bell, Kamaia Fairburn, Alex R. Hibbert, Fabrizio Guido, Elizabeth Hinkler and Emily Hinkler as Cindy and Mindy, and Anabel Graetz as Ruth. The film also features original “Good Burger” cast members Josh Server, Lori Beth Denberg, and Carmen Electra.

Nickelodeon Studios is producing the film. Kevin Kopelow and Heath Seifert, who co-wrote the original film and worked on “All That” serve as writers and executive producers on the sequel. James III is also a writer on the film. Phil Traill serves as director. Both Thompson and Mitchell are producers, while John Ryan Jr. of Artists for Artists serves as an executive producer. Production of the movie for Nickelodeon Studios is overseen by Shauna Phelan and Zack Olin, co-heads of Nickelodeon & Awesomeness Live-Action. Brittany Cope serves as Nickelodeon’s executive in charge of production.

CBS has been simultaneously airing some Paramount + projects on the broadcast network as well, but to date this one is not scheduled to be shown anywhere besides Paramount +, the CBS streaming service.
