NASHVILLE, TN — The Metropolitan Nashville-Davidson County General Session Court Judge Lynda Jones has been elected president of the Tennessee General Sessions Judges Conference (TGSJC) for 2020 – 2021.
The TGSJC is a statewide organization consisting of 185 general sessions court judges from across the State of Tennessee. Judge Jones is also the District 6 Director of the National Association of Women Judges (NAWJ) for 2019-2021. Judge Jones worked with several non-profits and Baker Donelson Legal Clinic to launch a Homeless Court for Davidson County.
Judge Jones was first elected as judge of the Davidson County General Sessions Court, Division IX, in 2014 and was the Nashville-Davidson County Presiding General Session Judge for 2019 – 2020. She practiced law in middle Tennessee for 22 years prior to becoming a judge. Judge Jones currently is a member of the Nashville Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the National Association of Women Judges. She is a former Chair of the General Sessions Court Committee for the Nashville Bar Association and Fellow of the Nashville Bar Foundation.
Judge Jones has been heavily involved in the Nashville Community after serving on the boards of several organizations while also active in her church. Lynda is widowed and has one child. She serves as a mentor to women in the community.
