NASHVILLE, TN — Centennial Park, the historic 132-acre urban park located in Nashville, is ready to once again welcome the community to enjoy a variety of free events this spring and summer.

The Park features a walking trail, scenic lake, art center, performance studios, sand volleyball courts, a playground, a dog park, and plenty of places to unwind and relax. Perhaps best known as the home of the Parthenon, the Park’s centerpiece is a full-scale replica of the Athenian temple that houses a 42 foot tall Athena statue and a museum of permanent and rotating art exhibitions.

Centennial Park Conservancy, a non-profit organization, works to sustain the vibrancy of the Park and the Parthenon by supporting Metro Parks in revitalizing and activating this public green space and ensuring it remains a welcoming destination for recreation, culture, education, and community connection for all.

The organization’s most immediate event is the Kidsville Family Walk which is taking place in the park near the Bandshell on Saturday, April 27th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The first time, free event invites families to get active and interact with nature and play games along the pathways in Centennial Park. Activities include a dance party, arts & crafts, movement games, an instrument petting zoo, family yoga, and booths from family-oriented community partners, plus food trucks and more.  Information can be found at kidsvilleonline.org.

Another major annual highlight is the Musicians Corner concert series. This family and pet-friendly outdoor concert series is celebrating its 15th year with a lineup of multi-genre performances on Fridays and Saturdays, May 17th through June 15 that was recently announced and can be found at musicianscorner.com.

The fun continues all season long across a variety of events including: Yoga in the Park, Big Band Dances, Kidsville at Musicians Corner, Tennessee Craft Fair, Water Lantern Festival, art exhibits at the Parthenon, and more.

To get the community deeper involved, Centennial Park Conservancy recently kicked off a spring fundraising campaign that invites everyone to give back so that these community events can remain free for all and the Park can remain beautiful for future generations.

For more information on Centennial Park’s spring and summer events or to donate, visit the Centennial Park Conservancy website at www.ConservancyOnline.com.
