    Several Prominent African-American Women are Being Discussed for the Biden Administration

    NASHVILLE, TN — During his victory speech on Saturday, November 7, President-Elect Joe Biden thanked African Americans for being the driving force that led to his victory in several blue-wall swing states of Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, and in the state of Georgia. “Especially at those moments when this campaign was at its lowest, the African American community stood up again for me,” Biden said, “You’ve always had my back, and I’ll have yours.”

    Biden promised to have a diverse Cabinet that was representative of America. Several names have come into consideration for positions in his administration, including Judgeships, Ambassadors, and Senior Advisors. Some of the names of Black women who have been mentioned are:

    Stacy Abrams

    for Department of Justice. Lawyer, and voting rights activist, currently founder and president of Fair

    Rep. Marcia Fudge

    Fight Action, an organization that addresses voter suppression.

    Karen Bass for Secretary for the Department of Health and Human Services. Currently, Congresswoman for the 37th Congressional District in California.

    Keisha Lance Bottoms for Secretary for the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Currently, serves as Mayor of City of Atlanta.

    Mignon Clyburn for Federal Communications Commission. Former FCC commissioner, where. She also served as Acting FCC Chairwoman.

    Val Demmings for National Security Advisor. Currently, Congresswoman for the 10th Congressional District in Florida.

    Marcia Fudge for Secretary for the Department of Agriculture. Currently, Congresswoman

    Mellody Hobson

    for the 11th Congressional District in Ohio.

    Dr. Glenda Glover, CPA for Secretary of the Department of Education. Currently, serves as President of Tennessee State University.

    Rep. Mignon Clyburn

    Susan Rice for Secretary of State. Former United States Ambassador to the United Nations; also former National Security Advisor.
