Talk about lending a helping hand!

Anita Baker publicly thanked Chance the Rapper for helping her obtain her master recordings, Complex reports.

Last year, legendary soul singer Anita Baker took to Twitter to ask fans to stop streaming her music until streaming sites like Spotify can pay artists their worth. She went on to express her contempt over having to fight for her master recordings despite having outlived all of her contracts, requesting fans not buy her music either until she sorts everything out.

Last September, she updated her followers, taking to the social platform again to let everyone know she had successfully obtained her master recordings and people were free to begin listening to her music again. The caption came under a picture of five of Baker’s most popular albums including The Songstress (1983), Rapture (1986), Giving You The Best That I Got (1988), Compositions (1990), and Rhythm of Love (1994).

Earlier this year, Baker announced her long-awaited Vegas residency, the shows receiving rave reviews with many celebrities in attendance. Recently, Baker paused her performance to give a special shout-out to Chicago artist, Chance the Rapper, who she credits with helping her acquire her masters.

“You should say hello to a friend of mine by way of the music industry and by way of helping me, helping me to get a hold and ownership of my master recordings,” Baker told the crown in a clip circulating online.

Chance stood up while the audience clapped, later going online to show his love for Baker by responding to one of the re-shared video clips. Baker then responded with some gratitude of her own, the two sharing a brief exchange.

“I saw one of THE greatest performances of my LIFETIME last night! Thank you so much @IAMANITABAKER for being an inspiration and an icon to so many of US,” Chance wrote.

“Had no idea you would be in our Midst. Such a nice Surprise. Brought Tears, to my eyes. Hope Ms.Essence enjoyed her Birthday,” Baker responded.

“WOW the fact that you remembered my friends name AND that it was her birthday just echoes what an INCREDIBLE PERSON you are on top of all that you’ve given artistically. Honored and blessed to call you friend miss @IAMANITABAKER,” Chance replied.

What a beautiful moment between two generations of talented artists. Blessings to you both!
