Nashville, TN (TN Tribune)–Two Davidson County COVID-19 testing and vaccination sites will open one hour late Monday due to cold weather.

The sites are located at 2491 Murfreesboro Pike (at the former Kmart) and 350 28th Ave. N. (28th and Charlotte Ave.)

Drive-thru testing and vaccination services will be available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. if the center is open and walk-ups are welcome. Testing is available to all Nashville residents at no cost.

Both testing sites are expected to open on time at 8 a.m. Tuesday.

The omicron coronavirus variant was first detected in Nashville Thursday. The highly transmissible variant is still being studied in Nashville, and the department of public health urged residents to get vaccinated to improve resistance.

“Those who are eligible to receive a booster dose are encouraged to schedule their dose as soon as possible,” a Thursday press release said. “The CDC recommends all people wear a mask in indoor public settings in areas with high numbers of COVID-19 cases.”
