NASHVILLE, Tenn., (TN Tribune) – Kroger is proud to announce the launch of the 2024 Food Angel Tree program in partnership with The Salvation Army, continuing a cherished tradition of supporting families facing challenges this holiday season. This program allows Kroger customers to help provide a Christmas meal to an Angel Tree family by purchasing a $25 Food Angel at checkout through December 29.

The Food Angel Tree program aligns with Kroger’s Zero Hunger | Zero Waste initiative, which aims to eliminate hunger in our communities and reduce food waste. With 1 in 8 people—including 1 in 7 children—facing hunger, this program offers an easy and impactful way for customers to give back during the holidays.

“We are thrilled to partner once again with the Salvation Army for the Food Angel Tree program,” said Lauren Bell, Corporate Affairs Manager for Kroger. “Our customers and associates share a strong commitment to helping others, and this initiative provides a simple yet meaningful way to ensure families in our communities have food on their tables this Christmas.”

Donations made through the Food Angel Tree program help the Salvation Army provide thousands of meals to families facing food insecurity. The funds also support The Salvation Army’s year-round programs and services that uplift individuals and families.

“The Food Angel Tree program truly embodies the spirit of Christmas,” said Major Bill Mockabee, of the Nashville Area Command of The Salvation Army. “Thanks to the generosity of Kroger and its customers, we can ensure that Angel Tree families not only have gifts to open but also a festive meal to share with their loved ones. We are incredibly grateful for this ongoing partnership.”

Kroger invites customers to join this effort and make a difference in the lives of local families this holiday season. Every Food Angel purchased helps brighten Christmas for a family in need while advancing Kroger’s mission of Feeding the Human Spirit. Food Angels can be found at all Kroger locations in Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky.
