Redefining Girl Power: The Mustang Mach-E Girls Club

I’ve loved Mustang® cars since before I could walk. And that’s not surprising – my dad loved his ’69 GT so much that he had his initials embroidered on the seats. He definitely passed that passion on to me.

Despite being practically raised in a Mustang, it wasn’t on my radar when shopping for a new vehicle. I needed something with a bit more space for my family of four.

But when my husband and I first saw a Mustang Mach-E® SUV on the road, my heart skipped a beat, and I was immediately curious.

    “What is that?”

The design was sleek, and I loved the clean look of the door pulls. And the storage space was just what I needed. As soon as I saw the badge, I was sold. I’ve owned mine for two years, and I’m still obsessed.

I still get goosebumps thinking about how excited my dad would be to hear that I officially joined the Mustang family. Sharing a love for these cars is one of the special ways I remember him.

After a full first day of ear-to-ear smiles driving on scenic highways, I decided to log into a few online enthusiast groups; I was all-in on the car and eager to find some women who felt the same. I thought back to the hours that my dad and I would spend in the garage – occasionally working on the ‘Stang, but really just enjoying our time together.

But I noticed a gap online – there were no spaces geared toward women who own the electric pony.

As I knew from my journey, many of us are first-time EV owners with unique motivations, needs, and wants. I was confident that other women were craving this type of space.

We needed a group where customization and women-centric ownership could be championed, with an emphasis on community. So, I figured, what’s stopping me from making one?

That’s where the Mustang Mach-E Girls Club comes in.

What started as a phone call has grown into an international, 2,500-member-strong organization.

I thought we might get a few hundred women joining, but looking back on this success, it’s clear that women wanted a space where there were “no dumb questions” – which is the motto of the Mustang Mach-E Girls Club.

It’s incredible what’s possible with a small group of hugely passionate women. Victoria Huerta has been with me on this journey since the beginning.

“When I discovered the Mustang Mach-E I was thrilled to own a Mustang again,” Victoria said. “I never thought I could love a car more than my Model X, but the Mach-E has surpassed all my expectations.”

Our Facebook group remains the main gathering point. Victoria’s expert moderator skills truly make the group a resource for owners. Managing the vast amount of shared information is a Herculean task, and she ensures it’s accessible and organized.

Beyond being a forum for questions, the group has become a genuine, welcoming community where women share photos, stories, road trip and charging experiences, and fun things they’ve learned along the ownership journey.

And thanks to wrenching enthusiasts like Sophie Dower, we have great information on mechanics and aftermarket parts. With such a broad group of women, we can help answer any questions, big or small.

“I’ve always been a car nerd, but it’s always been a bit lonely,” Sophie said. “It’s just me and a bunch of dudes in the car community. So, when I saw a group of women who love the Mach-E, I thought this is the greatest thing ever.”

While our community is rooted online, we’re now expanding into regional chapters with tons of in-person events like Cars and Coffee, and track days.

We’re always accepting new members for the Girls Club with tons of online and in-person events planned year-round. Reach out to learn more; We’d love to have you!
