Zaevion Dobson, 15, was killed protecting his friends from gun fire.

KNOXVILLE, TN — When asked what Black LLC stands for, President Keisha Jackson will proudly tell you:  Building Leaders increasing Assets, Capacity, and Knowledge. While Black LLC is a highly successful business consulting and event management firm, they also use their gifts to remove barriers for smaller nonprofits who are trying to help the vulnerable by holding magnificent fundraising events and giving all profits to the organization. President Jackson works hard to host events in spaces never before used. She is relentless in knocking down barriers placed before her to host the fundraisers in spectacular spaces. Events have been held in the Botanical Gardens, Lakeshore Park and this past weekend, at the Ralph McGill Plaza in the town of Farragut, under a brilliant blue sky for the Todd Kelly Jr. Foundation. Over 250 attended the afternoon party with a purpose.

The theme was Mimosas and Margaritas and was held in the middle of the afternoon. Music was provided by Knoxville and the University of Tennessee’s top DJ, Sterl the Pearl Hinton, there was a mixologist on site, food, and several Black vendors; all with one purpose raise funds for the TKJ Foundation. VIP seating was also available.

Todd Kelly Jr. is a former U.T. Football player dedicated to improving the lives of low-income youth in East Tennessee. He holds several events yearly to help youth, the largest being Camp 24, a number symbolizing honor, courage and strength, The free football camp is held yearly with emphasis on integrity and leadership. The camp is named in honor of Zaevion Dobson, a young 15-year-old from Knoxville who wore the number 24 when he played football at Fulton high school. Dobson sacrificed his life to save his friends from being shot in 2015. The camp serves youth ages 7-14 and will take place July 13, 2024, from 9 till 12 noon at the Emerald Youth Haslam-Sansom Ministry Complex.

Upon learning of the goal to serve 200 kids at Camp 2024, Black LLC chose the Todd Kelly Foundation for its fundraiser.
