“The Daily Show’s” host Trevor Noah will have a new role this year. He’s taking over as new host of the Grammy Awards telecast that airs on WTVF-5 Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. Many wonder how many, if any, awards Beyonce’s “Black Parade” will win. It has earned a record tying nine Grammy nominations.

NASHVILLE, TN — Trevor Noah is taking on a new role and additional duties in a setting apart for his usual “Daily Show” responsibilities. Variety and other entertainment publications announced Monday that his Day Zero Productions company would join with Time Studios and P&G Studios on an ambitious series titled  “The Tipping Point.” This will be a group of documentary projects devoted to examining critical issues. Some topics they plan to tackle include voting rights, civil rights,  to civil rights, healthcare, and the global refugee crisis.
Each film  will be a unique, standalone documentary. Some of the names they’ve already signed to participate are LeBron James and Maverick Carter through their media company The SpringHill Company, Angelina Jolie, Kat Graham and Lance Bass.
Noah is serving as executive producer of the series. The producers said in a statement that the films would look at how “developments across our culture are rapidly leading to multiple critical moments with the potential to inevitably create the distinct delineation between before and after.” The films will also utilize different forms of storytelling, with some taking a comedic slant, and others a more serious and poignant approach to the designated topic.
“I hope these documentaries will act as a mirror to our society and showcase our resiliency while providing hope for the path ahead,” Noah  said in a statement. Other executive producers will be Michael Sugar, Ashley Zalta and David Hillman of Sugar23, Ian Orefice and Alexa Conway of Time Studios, and Haroon Saleem of Day Zero Productions. Executive Ashley Dizon is overseeing the project on behalf of Day Zero Productions. For P&G Studios, executive producers overseeing the productions are Carrie Rathod, Marc Pritchard and Kimberly Doebereiner. Norman Aladjem, Derek Van Pelt and Sanaz Yamin of Mainstay Entertainment will also serve as executive producers.
“Each film in ‘The Tipping Point’ will dig deep to provide an objective and comprehensive view of what is happening, how we got here and where it could lead,” Sugar, Orefice and Saleem added.
