This coming election is a critical one for Nashville residents. While the selection of a mayor is vital, it’s equally important that members of the Metro Council be people dedicated to working towards a better city for everyone, and making certain that no community or citizens are being ignored or excluded.
Atty. Quin Evans-Segall is exactly the type of person that’s so vitally needed on the Metro Council. She doesn’t just pay lip service to the need for affordable housing. She collaborated with Metro and developers to approve 500 new units in Cleveland Park and the Haynes-Trinity/Bellshire area while serving as Vice Chair of the Industrial Development Board.
She also recognizes improving Nashville’s mass transit situation should be a priority, especially since every transportation survey taken in the last few years shows that a large portion of poor, Black and Brown Nashville residents are dependent on it. Towards the fulfilment of that goal, she supported and approved the establishment of the North Nashville Transit Center.
Most importantly, Evans-Segall wants to make Nashville a more livable place for everyone by collaborating with trusted neighborhood partners to eliminate such things as food deserts, and also ensuring that all citizens have equal access to city facilities, and that low income and working families have the childcare they need.
The Tennessee Tribune wholeheartedly endorses Quin Evans-Segall for Metro Council.
