NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Ready Test Know®️ held its Inaugural Leaders in Literacy Author’s Showcase at host hotel Embassy Suites by Hilton Downtown Nashville 708 Demonbreun Street Nashville, Tn 37203 on October 12th at 10AM. This fundraiser event was a collaborative effort to support literacy in Middle Tennessee and raise awareness about Ready Test Know’s childhood literacy efforts.

The event was a morning of triumph, enlightenment, and joy. Guests were delighted to witness the debut of child author Andrew Williams (age 7) talk about his participation in Ready Test Know’s literacy workshop “The Anatomy of a Story.” Andrew proudly took the stage and read an excerpt from his upcoming book titled, “Can You Guess Where I Am?”

Left to Right: Sherrye Washington (author), Shaelan Williams,
J.D. (Ready Test Know ® CEO), Amy Anguish (author), and
    Cynthia Y. Anderson (author)

The morning continued with two literacy panels which were moderated by Ready Test Know®️ CEO and Leaders in Literacy executive producer, Shaelan Williams, J.D. The first panel was called “Literacy in the Community” where Elizabeth Atack from the Bringing Books to Life program at the Nashville Public Library and Rauslyn Adams MSW of Girls, Inc. shared their insight on the state of literacy in Alabama and Tennessee. The discussion highlighted tangible advice and tools that can be used by parents and caregivers in promoting literacy at home through song and playtime.

The second panel featured adult authors Sherrye Washington, Amy Anguish, and Cynthia Yeldell Anderson, who shared insights on how to get started on the journey of writing if one is interested in writing their own book. Each author showcase immediately followed.

Following the showcases, a book shop opportunity was given where attendees were
invited to purchase books onsite and have their books signed by the authors over coffee and snacks.

The Ready Test Know®️ Leaders in Literacy Author’s Showcase will return in October 2025 and is set to take place in Nashville, Tennessee.
